The Rev. Ted Mingle

Senior Minister

Reverend Edward (Ted) Mingle comes to us from Lititz, PA, in the heart of Lancaster County, where he served as the Senior Associate Pastor for Family Ministry and Discipleship at Highland Presbyterian Church. While at Highland, Ted focused his ministry on both the spiritual growth of the Highland congregation as well as those in need of God’s love outside the Church.

Rev. Mingle’s call at Highland did not just stop with strengthening the congregation; he also developed a ministry focusing on mission and outreach outside of the church’s walls.

“My style communicates my belief that the Church should be more focused on the role of the lay people as leaders, rather than leaving the leadership responsibilities to the pastors and staff. That is what Christ did with the twelve as they were given the Great Commission and they went out and started the Church through the power of the Holy Spirit.” This leadership model is accomplished through three key components: (1) setting a vision and training others to reach that vision; (2) delegation to allow opportunities to serve; and (3) being a servant above all.

Prior to Highland, he served as a Young Life Volunteer leader and in both Youth Ministry and Evangelism positions at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorestown, NJ and at the Media Presbyterian Church in Media, PA. Ted received his formal training at the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Wynnewood, PA) as well as a BA and Master’s degree from West Chester University.

Ted has been married to his wonderful wife Heather since 1993. They have been blessed by a daughter, Taylor (born in 1998), and a son, Jacob (born in 2000). Their family is a close one, enjoying backyard games like football, wiffle ball and soccer. The whole family also enjoys running—long-distance running—having competed in various races both as a family and separately. In fact, Ted ran the Philadelphia Marathon in 2006!

Ted is focused on the spiritual growth of his congregation and on an effective outreach to the local community. Most importantly, however, Ted is focused on Christ and what He wants for our lives, for the church, and for the world.

The Rev. Samuel J. Seymour

Pastoral Associate

Samuel James Seymour was raised in Havertown, Pennsylvania and educated in the Haverford Township School District. While attending The King’s College, where he received his undergraduate degree in English, he sang with the radio and television ministry of evangelist Perry Crawford on the ABC television network. As part of Crawford’s ministry, he regularly traveled throughout the United States and to 45 countries, singing for the American Armed Forces, United Nations troops and to Christian missions representing several denominations. This experience opened his eyes to the world and helped to clarify God’s call to ministry.

He then completed his degree in theology at Temple University, School of Theology, now known as Gordon-Conwell Seminary. He first served as a minister in the Methodist denomination after being positively influenced by his uncle and two cousins who were also ministers. He was invited to join the staff at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church (LPPC) as Pastoral Associate after retiring from 22 years at Faith Church in Worcester, Pennsylvania. At Faith Church, Sam joined with five families to start this church and became the founding minister.

Sam has been on staff at LPPC for sixteen years and resides with his wife, Pat, in Eagleville. Sam and Pat have four children who have blessed them with fourteen grandchildren.
