Our Worship Services

Come Join Us!             IMG_8648

Worship at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church is an exciting celebration of what Christ has done in our lives and ministries and a source of encouragement and challenge as we pursue the adventure of growing in him and serving him each day.

The Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 and 11:00* comprise an essentially traditional style with a variety in worship order and music.

The music includes a variety of instruments and choirs including our Chancel Choir, our Young Presbyterians youth choir, our Cherub Choir and our two bell choirs, the Sonrise Ringers and the Hilltop Ringers.  All of these musicians are led by our organist, pianist and music director, Jodi Bohr.  Traditional and classical hymns and anthems, along with gospel and contemporary choruses give an opportunity for those whose musical tastes vary to praise God through a variety of forms.

At the center of our worship services is the reading and preaching the word of God.  We greatly value the authority of the Scriptures for all teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, sothat all God’s people may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (II Timothy 3:16-17).

This includes a brief Children’s Sermon for our younger disciples, usually based on the scripture lesson of the day, in which our children often manage to ask the questions and make the comments that none of us would have the nerve to propose!  In response to the preaching and teaching of the Scriptures, there is a regular celebration of the sacraments of baptism and communion, renewing our gratitude for Christ’s ongoing good work in our midst.

Come and join us for a joyful, invigorating worship experience as we gather together before our holy God.  We will do our best to welcome you warmly and we encourage you to remain after worship for fellowship and light snacks in our Atrium.

*The summer worship schedule begins Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. There is one service at 9:45 am with a Fellowship Hour following in the Atrium. The schedule returns to two services, 8:30 and 11:00 am, on the second Sunday in September with Sunday School for all ages at 9:45 am.
