Our History
Learn more about the history of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church from the birth of our church to the present day.
When you visit LPPC, you will find an intergenerational church seeking Jesus together and shining His light from this hill. We are committed to helping you feel at home, no matter your age, stage of life or wherever you are on your faith journey. We are committed to inviting you to grow in your walk with God and see that following Jesus can impact all areas of your life. We provide faith-building experiences for every age, while also bringing people of different ages together to grow spiritually. Finally, following Jesus means being “His hands and feet.” We are committed to bridging the generations, working side by side to meet the needs of our community and the world around us.
LPPC is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA). LPPC is structured with a Session, a Board of Deacons, and Corporate Officers acting as church trustees. The Session consists of 15 ruling Elders each serving a 3 year term. The Elders are assigned to one of our five teams either as a team leader or as a team member. The teams are responsible for the various duties and activities of the church. There are 24 Deacons each serving a 2 year term. The Deacons also minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith.
