New Mem Classes 2018

New Member Process

Our new member process has been developed to give expression to each individual’s calling to membership in Christ’s Church. Within the process we will also inform prospe

ctive members of things they should know and understand about being Presbyterian.

The next series of classes for new members is scheduled for March 4 and 11, 2018.

For more information please contact Wendy Todd in the church office (610) 539-6635 x11.

Confirmation class is for those in 6th grade who wish to decide if they want to become Church members.

The goal of this process is for each person in the class to learn what it means to become a follower of Jesus Christ (i.e., a member of the Church). This includes discovery through:

  • The Bible message
  • The nature of the Church as the Body of Christ
  • The “means of grace” (i.e., study the Scripture, worship and the Sacraments, prayer, giving, service)
  • God’s claim on our lives
  • The nature of Christian commitment (membership questions)
  • Emphasis is placed on the practice of the Christian faith because this is what they will be asked to do for the rest of their lives.

The process begins this year on Sunday, October 15 with a Confirmation Dinner attended by confirmands, parents and sponsors. Classes are held on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 pm beginning Monday, October 16.  This process culminates on Confirmation Sunday, which will be held on May 6 , 2018.  For questions concerning Confirmation, please contact Kathy Huber, Director of Children’s Ministry at (610) 539-6635 x 25.
